We've spent time researching how face shape identification is taught in professional hairstyling and optician training, and we've worked to translate that expertise into the style recommendations the tool provides. The guides on this site are informed by established principles from the beauty and fashion industries, not generated generically.

Why We Built This
The Problem We Kept Running Into
When you search for face shape advice online, you find one of two things: a vague written quiz that asks you to measure your own face with a ruler (unreliable and awkward), or an app that wants you to create an account, grant camera permissions, and accept a privacy policy before showing you anything.
Neither option felt right. The quiz approach is prone to error because most people can't objectively assess their own proportions. The app approach trades your data for a result you could get without it. We wanted something that worked instantly, required no account, and kept your photo on your own device — so we built it.
What We Prioritized
We made three decisions early on that shaped everything else. First: all processing happens in the browser, on your device, with no server involved — not because it's technically easier (it isn't), but because it's the only approach that genuinely protects your photo. Second: the tool would always be free with no premium tier, because the core functionality shouldn't be paywalled. Third: the recommendations would be grounded in real styling principles, not generic advice recycled from a template.
The result is a tool that does one thing well: it analyzes your face shape accurately and tells you, specifically, what works for your features and why.

The complete analysis — including all style recommendations for hairstyles, glasses, and makeup — is available to everyone without any payment, account, or email address. That's not a trial; it's just how the tool works.
No App, No Download, No Permissions
The tool runs entirely in your web browser using modern browser-based AI APIs. There's nothing to install, no app store required, and no system permissions to grant beyond accessing your camera if you choose to use it. It works on iPhone, Android, desktop, and tablet — any device with a modern browser. You can close the tab when you're done and nothing persists.
Genuinely Private — Verifiably So
We don't just say your photos are private — you can verify it. Open your browser's developer tools, go to the Network tab, and run an analysis. You'll see that no image data is transmitted during the process. The AI runs on your device using your own hardware. We never receive your photo, we have no copy of it, and we couldn't access it even if we wanted to. This is a technical reality of how the tool is built, not just a policy.
Recommendations Grounded in Real Styling Principles
The style advice we provide is based on the same principles taught in professional hairstyling and optician training — visual balance through contrast, the relationship between frame geometry and facial angles, and how hair volume at different levels affects apparent face proportions. We've researched these principles carefully and translated them into specific, actionable recommendations rather than recycling vague generic advice like "try a bob" or "avoid round glasses."
